The
Targus Wireless Remote Presenter features a cursor control pad and four (4)
control buttons that emulate mouse controls and command keys in PowerPoint®.
NOTE: You should expect that the device has been already
installed for the BMRA laptop that it accompanies.
To
connect the receiver to your computer, plug the standard USB end of the
receiver (Figure 1)

Figure 1 - Receiver
into
any available USB port on your computer. Your computer’s operating system
identifies the receiver as a “USB Human Interface Device” and begins installing
the default driver. Follow any on-screen procedures to complete the default
driver installation.
NOTE: The width of this transmitter makes it easy to plug into the network port. Needless to say, it WON'T WORK if you plug it into the network port. Look at this diagram to make sure you plug it into a USB port.

You
are now ready to begin using the presenter.
To
maximize its features, the presenter has two modes of operation: Mouse mode and
Presenter mode. The presenter’s default setting is Mouse mode. To change modes,
press the oval silver button. This button toggles the mode between Mouse mode
and Presenter Mode.
The
mode features are listed in the table below.

Why
is my Previous Page key (Key 2) popping up a menu with Next, Previous, Go,
etc.?
› The Presenter is in Mouse Mode. Use the Cursor Control (Key
4) to choose what you’d like to do (Previous, for example) and press Key 1 to
choose. Then, before you press any other key, toggle back into Presenter Mode
by pressing Key 5.
What
do I do if the response time of the presenter’s mouse is slow or intermittently
stops working?
› Try the steps below first. If you are still having problems,
use the Laptop keyboard to change the slides as an interim solution – this will
avoid delaying the class. Then contact the BMRA Help Desk for assistance at the
next opportunity. (703) 691-0868
