Developing an Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE)

Course Description:

This course provides a basic understanding of what is an Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), how it is used, and how to prepare one.

Prerequisites:

Persons attending this course should have:
• A general knowledge of the Federal acquisition process, particularly the procurement and contracting phases of that process.
• Completed a course on preparation of statements of work. The agency may waive these prerequisites when appropriate, according to its policies.

Learning Objectives:

The purpose of this two-day course is to provide a basic understanding of:
• What is an Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE);
• How it is used; and
• How to prepare it.
